Outdoor newborn session
An outdoor newborn shoot isn’t the first thing that pops into your head when booking your newborn photoshoot. I want to change that! Babies and nature, so much green - what could be more beautiful! These sessions are also great for older kiddos too, giving everyone the opportunity to get out in the fresh air. The shoot below was photographed in Titirangi, Auckland. I have recently photographed the most beautiful Dunedin family in the bush midwinter with their little bundle all wrapped up nice and snug!
You can choose to have your entire newborn session outside or just add it onto your studio shoot. Doing both gives you the best of both worlds with unwrapped studio portraits that capture every detail right down to those tiny toes.

Looking for an Outdoor Newborn Photographer in Dunedin? Wanting something a little bit different?Our studio is conveniently located in Central Dunedin, this means you can include outdoor images as part of your portrait session or we can do the entire shoot outside if weather allows. These shoots are great for busy families or for those nature lovers. The studio is a short 2 minute drive from a beautiful Dunedin location. These really are magical sessions.
A year in Auckland
We survived a year in Auckland!!! Well almost Auckland. We lived in Titirangi in the bush, next to the sea. It was quite a chaotic time in our lives, with Mr Young starting a new job flying bigger planes. We also started a picture framing business that sells frames to photographers all over the country. We also opened our first studio outside of our home in the beautiful Titirangi Village. It was an incredible space, with beautiful light. I absolutely loved being surrounded by lush bush & delicious cafes... All that ontop of settling three kiddos into school and preschool... I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
We had planned to stay for two years but the call of the South Island was just too strong.
We did however make some incredible friendships, take some awesome photos as we explored a beautiful part of the country.

Rainbow Falls | Family
It’s time to travel again! Back to my home away from home! I cannot wait to see all my regular crew & see how much your family has grown (so many new babies to meet). Below you will find a special session of a beautiful family. This session was the last of the day so if you are wanting that super dreamy light book the last one (but wear mozzie repellent!).
This session takes place over 70 minutes. Typically we start at the top of the track before venturing down the track to the falls. I like to get it all in these family sessions, images of each child, all your children together, the all important family images + I like to photograph each parent with each child one on one. It takes a little extra time but I have found over the years these are the images that my own children cherish most.
I typically take around 600 images during a portrait session & edit them down to a collection of 50 beautifully edited images in an ethereal dreamlike style. These are then uploaded into a password protected gallery at high resolution for you to print & share to your hearts content. We do still offer our print and framing service. We do the whole thing ourselves here in Dunedin (My husband is a picture framer).
The cost for this session is $995. The deposit is $200 with the $795 balance payable the day of the session. I normally still go ahead with sessions if its just a few drops of rain as the cloud cover actually makes beautiful light for your photos. If the weather really does try to ruin our plans my stay in Kerikeri will be extended as we reschedule to fit everyone in.

We decided to take a few studio portraits before going on our bush walk. The kids had a great time dancing & posing for the camera.

I love shooting outdoors, but our new studio in Titirangi has opened up endless possibilities. I can now offer sessions similar to our old Kerikeri studio, shooting both studio & forest in the same session!
